| Here are the parts for the
main bracket that connect the antenna to the mast. The big bracket on
the right can be anything that provides support. |
These tubes are 3.25 inches long. 3/4,
5/8 and 1/2 inches OD. The smaller tubes slide into the larger tubes.
| The 1/2 x 20 2.5 inch long
SS bolt connects the SO239 connector bracket to the mast assembly.
Completed mast assembly with SO239
connector installed. This picture shows how all the components come
together. |
| This is 14 inches of center
conductor from RG8. Note the tip of the RG8 is on the outside of
the SO239. This is critical to tuning the antenna. |
The antenna is made of 3/8 inch rolled
tubing or racing fuel line. You will need two pieces 53.75 inches long.
Richard forms these loops on a wood spool jig. Notice the shorting
blocks used on the gamma match. Note drawing for spacing. |
| These are the shorting
blocks for the gamma match. They are 2.25 inches long and the holes are
drilled .50 inches centered from each end. The white block is a RK Radio
secret but our sources have discovered that Richard gets these from the
used up paper cash registers rolls used at Burger King restaurants.
Chassis mount SO239 works well and takes
up less space. |
| All the tubing
together makes for a nice fit! Richard likes to cover everything
with Monarch RTV 100 or DAP Aquarium 100% Silicone. |
The opposite side. Not the
PVC bracket and brace below the main bracket. |
| A piece of tubing and
tie-wraps hold the tuned section of the loop together. |
| This is a picture of
Richards stacked 6, 2 and 70 cm loops. Yep, the 70 cm is really up there
and very small. |
Another angle. |
| Richard checks everyone of
his antenna's to make sure they are right. The SWR on these antennas are
fairly flat across the board on the SSB frequencies! |
Richards seals everything with this
stuff. |
