Hello, My name is Richard Kitchen, and I live in a small township named
Knightdale. Knightdale is located just to the east of Raleigh N.C. on
highway US 64. It is a nice town and plenty of friendly people live
here.
I am 57 years young at the time of this update. I am married to a
very fine lady that puts up with a lot of my mess. And I am thankful for
her.
I have been in Radio communications since the early part of the 60's.
I have always been a junky for anything with a wire attached to it.
Ham fests and Swap fests around this area know me very well. I try to
attend as many as I can ( Time permitting ) so I won't miss any great
bargains. My station consists of all ICOM products. My 2 meter and 70cm
station is a IC-2410H. My 6 meter stations are 1. IC-551D and IC-706
which I also use for HF and 2m. My 220 station is an IC-38A. I also have
a packet station setup using another IC-2410H. A weather station is also
at work here using the Ultimeter II. I am running 2 beacons here. One
set for 6 meters on 50.060 CW at 100 watts, and one on 2 meters set on
144.300 CW at 100 watts. If you hear either or both at any given time,
please send me an email with the time heard and your grid square. I will
QSL you via email with a nice jpg for you files. I also run a small
radio repair shop to help the fellow hams in this area keep there radios
running. I have held this ticket since 4/21/92 and have enjoyed every
minute of it. I have been working on my WAS on 6 meters now for 2 years,
and have a log book full of fellow hams all over the country. But at
this time I have not completed all the grid squares, hopefully one day I
will be able to hang a nice award on the wall. So far I am still hot for
contacts on 6 meters. I am glad that you had some time to read about me.
So if you hear KD4NMI on the bands Please give me a call ,I would love
to chat with you.
